Artistic Director, Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, founded the Noorani Dance Company as a way to offer advanced and committed dancers opportunities to explore the performance realm of Kathak. The Noorani Dance Company is comprised of pre professional and professional dancers, committed to enlightening minds and hearts through the arts through traditional and innovative repertoire and performances, and collaborative partnerships across other forms of performing arts.
Performance experience includes the New York Kathak Festival at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Sari Dress Tent at Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, performances for Maitri, Community Seva and Asia Society of Northern California, and in The Partition Project at Z Space in San Francisco and Hammer Theatre in San Jose, and Ballet Beyond Borders. In addition to performing with the company, Athena Nair, Sreoshi Sarkar and Aishi Rao have also performed in the Noorani Dance Manzil ke Andaaz series, performing a full length Kathak solo.

Ragini Kaur Momi is a visual artist, a community organizer and a musician in the Bay Area. She grew up in a family of musicians where creativity was encouraged and nurtured. Ragini received her vocal training in Indian classical music and Gurmat Sangeet from her parents, professor Dalbir Singh and late professor Parminder Kaur, and later from the renowned maestro, Dr. Sisirkana Dhar Choudhury. A cinephile from childhood, Ragini gravitated towards cameras and the art of visual storytelling. She is enthusiastic and focused on preserving and sharing her roots, and the stories of her people through the arts.
Enakshi Vyas is the Artistic Director and Founder of Dance with E.N.A. Her formal Kathak training occurred under the direct guidance of Pandit Chitresh Das as part of the first iterations of the Chhandam Youth Dance Company. She brings a fresh touch to traditional forms of movement by mixing her diverse range of styles into her choreography. Enkashi is a purpose-driven artist, choreographer, and compassionate instructor committed to uniting communities, spreading joy, and teaching self-empowerment through dance.
Mahncy Mehrotra has been dancing since she was a child. She started her first ballet class when she was 4 years old and continued dancing lyrical and jazz dance at school through 8th grade. At the age of 9, she started learning Kathak and at the age of 13, she started learning Kathak at Chhandam, where she joined the Youth Company for 3 years. After short break, in 2017, she resumed her Kathak training with Farah Yasmeen Shaikh.
Ishika Seth (she/her) is a South Asian choreographer, dancer, dance educator and writer based in the unceded lands of the Ohlone people (Bay Area). Since 2007, Ishika has presented her work at various venues in and around the Bay Area. She studied Indian Contemporary Dance, jazz, yoga and Mayurbhanj Chhau in India and had the opportunity to be a part of Santosh Nair’s company Sadhya. She came to the U.S. She obtained her B.A. in Dance from SJSU studying modern, jazz, ballet and choreography, and was the Assistant Artistic Director of the Mona Khan Company from 2011-2021.
Trisha Chhaganlal is an accomplished Kathak and Bollywood Dance Instructor, starting her Kathak journey in New Zealand under the guidance of her mother, Leena Chhaganlal. After her family relocated to Florida, Trisha followed her many interests at Rollins College in Arts and Dance. After pursuing further training in Kathak from Saveeta Sharma (Canada), Trisha started Orlando's first school offering dance classes in Kathak, Bollywood and Garba. Upon moving to the Bay Area, she has worked in Social Media Management with a focus in growing authentic connections online.

Athena grew up in an environment enriched by the classical arts of South Asia, beginning her own training at the age of 5 at Pandit Das' institution, Chhandam, and receiving direct training from Farah since 2016. She has studied Kathak, Odissi and vocal music. A member of the Noorani Dance Company, Athena completed her kathak solo in 2019
Athena grew up in an environment enriched by the classical arts of South Asia, beginning her own training at the age of 5 at Pandit Das' institution, Chhandam, and receiving direct training from Farah since 2016. She has studied Kathak, Odissi and vocal music. A member of the Noorani Dance Company, Athena completed her kathak solo in 2019. Now at Tufts University, Athena continues to pursue her various artistic paths, alongside continuing to train in kathak, teach classes at Noorani Dance School, and perform as a soloist and as a member of the Noorani Dance Company.
Sreoshi Sarkar has a deep rooted passion for dance and visual art. She began her study of dance at age 5 at Chhandam, founded by the late Pandit Chitresh Das and has been training with Farah directly since 2015. Sreoshi has been instrumental in developing new curriculum for the children's classes at Noorani Dance. Now attending Barnard College, Sreoshi continues to teach and perform kathak.

She studied at Chhandam under the tutelage of various teachers, and at the age of 8 joined the Chhandam Youth Dance Company, the touring pre-professional dance group. At 14 years old, Aishi joined Noorani Dance and started training under Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, a disciple of Pandit Chitresh Das. Aishi has performed at Zellerbach Hall, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Palace of Fine Arts, SFMOMA, and various community events throughout the Bay Area, and performed her first Kathak solo in July, 2022. Aishi is now attending UC Berkeley.
